Bangkok-Nov 3rd Thailand – In a significant operation, Thai police have successfully apprehended 24 individuals suspected of being members of an international crime syndicate. The suspects, who reportedly fled Myanmar, were found concealing themselves in a luxury villa in Samut Prakan and a hotel in Bangkok.

 

The Royal Thai Police announced the arrests on its official Facebook page on Friday, October 31, 2025, revealing that the apprehended individuals include nationals from the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and China. According to The Nation Thailand, one of the suspects is confirmed to be a Singaporean national, while the Thai Enquirer reported the possible involvement of two Singaporeans.

 

The Facebook post detailed the operation: "On October 29, 2025, Division 2 of the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) conducted a raid on a luxury pool villa in Samut Prakan. The operation led to the discovery of 22 foreign nationals, including Filipinos and Singaporeans, residing at the premises."

 

Subsequent investigations involving questioning, passport verification, and immigration checks revealed that the suspects had been operating as scammers in Myawaddy, Myanmar. They had fled to Thailand following a period of unrest around October 21, 2025.

 

The suspects intended to use the villa as a temporary hideout between October 27 and 31, 2025, while awaiting transit to a third country. This successful operation underscores the commitment of Thai authorities to combat international crime and maintain regional security.
