FRANCE TO WELCOME FIRST TRADITIONAL HINDU TEMPLE IN PARIS REGION

16Feb2026  In a historic development for international cultural exchange, France is preparing to inaugurate its first traditional Hindu temple, located in the Paris suburb of Bussy-Saint-Georges.

 

The BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir will showcase stunning intricately carved stonework sourced from India, with assembly carried out by French masons who have prior experience working on the restoration of the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral.

 

Scheduled to open in 2026, the landmark structure will bring together traditional Indian architectural design and renowned French craftsmanship, standing as a powerful symbol of cross-cultural unity and the strengthening relationship between India and France.
