The meeting was arranged after Padma discovered and returned 45 sovereigns of gold she found while performing her duties.

 

The incident took place in the T Nagar area of Chennai, where Padma found a bag hidden beneath a heap of garbage. Upon discovering the gold ornaments within, she immediately reported the find to her superiors and the Pondy Bazaar police station. Her integrity ensured the valuables were safely returned to their rightful owner, earning her widespread acclaim, including a commendation from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.

 

To celebrate her virtue, Rajinikanth greeted Padma with deep respect, presenting her with a traditional shawl and a gold chain.
