High-Level Meetings with Karnataka Leaders Yield Fruitful Partnership Prospects

BENGALURU, INDIA – Penang has taken a significant step forward in forging international cooperation with the southern Indian state of Karnataka, following high-level discussions held at the Vikasa Soudha State Government Secretariat in Bengaluru.The Penang delegation met with key Karnataka leaders including Deputy Chief Minister the Honourable D.K. Shivakumar, Minister of Science and Technology Thiru N.S. Boseraju, and Minister of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Rural Development the Honourable Thiru Priyank Mallikarjun Kharge.

The comprehensive discussions proved highly fruitful and informative, with both parties expressing strong interest in collaborative initiatives across multiple strategic areas. These include expanding education opportunities, developing science parks, advancing infrastructure projects, and implementing robust water management solutions – a critical priority for Penang’s sustainable growth.

In a major milestone, both sides have agreed in principle to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Minister Priyank Mallikarjun Kharge to formalise and drive forward the collaborative objectives.“We will continue to be an attractive place for the world as long as we maintain our positive outreach for the world to thrive in Penang,” stated representatives of the Penang delegation.

 

Following the successful conclusion of talks in Bengaluru, the Penang delegation is set to depart for New Delhi to further strengthen international partnerships and explore additional avenues for cooperation.
