CHENNAI, May 12 — Newly elected Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay today expressed heartfelt gratitude to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for extending warm congratulatory wishes following his historic electoral victory in the state.

In his response, Vijay said he was “deeply honored” by the gracious message conveyed by the Malaysian Prime Minister, describing the gesture as a reflection of the long-standing cultural and diplomatic ties shared between Tamil Nadu and Malaysia.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister noted that the relationship between the people of Tamil Nadu and Malaysia has always been strengthened through history, language, trade, and the vibrant Tamil diaspora residing in the Southeast Asian nation.

Vijay further emphasized his commitment to fostering stronger cooperation between Tamil Nadu and Malaysia, particularly in areas involving education, trade, investment, tourism, culture, and youth development.

He also expressed confidence that the friendship between both sides would continue to flourish under the leadership of Anwar Ibrahim, while paving the way for greater people-to-people engagement and mutual growth in the years ahead.
