India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi today presided over a ceremony to hoist the saffron flag atop the 191-foot ‘shikhar’ of the Ayodhya Ram Temple. This event signifies the formal completion of the temple construction, fulfilling a centuries-long aspiration.The ‘Dharma Dhwaj,’ measuring ten by twenty feet, features the symbols of a radiant Sun, the ‘Om’ inscription, and the Kovidara tree.

 

In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the event's significance in healing historical wounds and ushering in a new era for India. He urged citizens to embody the values of truth and righteousness to propel India towards development by 2047."The hoisting of this flag marks not only the completion of a temple but the realization of a centuries-long dream," stated Prime Minister Modi. "It symbolizes our cultural renaissance and the triumph of truth."RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat linked the flag to the principles of ‘Ram Rajya,’ while Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath acknowledged Prime Minister Modi's leadership in this cultural and religious revival.

 

The ceremony included prayers at local temples and an ‘aarti’ at the Ram Mandir.The placement of the flag, bearing symbols of the Sun, Om, and the Kovidara tree, signifies the culmination of the Ram Mandir project following the consecration in January 2024. The temple's architecture blends the traditional North Indian Nagara style with South Indian designs in its surrounding ‘Parkota,’ symbolizing national unity.This event marks a key moment in India's history, representing the fulfillment of a long journey and the promise of a future characterized by peace, prosperity, and cultural resurgence.
